Set to co-lead the upcoming blockbuster opposite franchise icon Harrison Ford, her involvement was announced on the movie’s Twitter page today (April 9).
“A new #IndianaJones adventure begins July 29, 2022. Phoebe Waller-Bridge joins the cast alongside Harrison Ford in the fifth installment of the iconic franchise. The inimitable John Williams will also return to score the film,” the post read.
Logan and Ford v Ferrari director James Mangold takes over from Steven Spielberg on this one and plans to kick off production sometime in the summer.
Plot details remain unknown at the moment, while it’s also unspecified who Waller-Bridge will actually play no doubt she’ll be tempted to break the fourth wall, though.
Meanwhile, it’s wonderful to learn that Williams is returning to score Indie’s cinematic swansong, after working on each of the previous four instalments.
Waller-Bridge is picking up a habit of working on momentous projects – later this year she’ll receive a writing credit on Daniel Craig’s final James Bond flick No Time to Die.
Back in February, it was also confirmed that she’ll reunite with Solo co-star Donald Glover for a TV reboot of Mr & Mrs Smith.
