Sufjan Stevens Has Shared Details Of A New Five-Volume Collection Called ‘Convocations’

The entire project comprises ‘Meditations’, ‘Lamentations’, ‘Revelations’, ‘Celebrations’ and ‘Incantations’, with the first instalment out this Thursday (April 8). As a preview, the instrumental Meditation V has been unveiled.

Stevens penned and recorded the project as a tribute to his late father, who died in September 2020, shortly after the release of Stevens’ latest album, ‘The Ascension’. Each volume reflects a different stage of mourning.

The whole collection will be released by May 6, with a five-LP vinyl box set due to arrive on August 20.
