Leon Goretzka had to be substituted during the first leg of Bayern’s Champions League game with PSG due to muscle problems.
There is currently little chance of him being fit for the second leg. He missed the Bundesliga game with Union Berlin at the weekend.
Goretzka is a serious doubt for the Champions League quarter-final second leg between PSG and Bayern. The midfielder has been out with a muscle problems for a week and media outlets like ‘Kicker’ are using that as the reason why he will not play at the Parc des Princes.
He missed the Bundesliga game with Union Berlin and, after all the pre-match training sessions, it looks as though he will not be ready to face Pochettino’s side. Hansi Flick has several other options and so it makes no sense to risk him.
The problem is that he is one of the most important footballers in the squad and Bayern need to win by at least two goals. That is why he will make a huge difference to them if he starts. He started the first leg.
Without him, the Bundesliga outfit will lack physical presence. It will be interesting to see how the coach adapts to this. In the match with Union Berlin, he went for Muller, Tiago Dantas and Kimmich in midfield.
