Neymar’s future is gradually becoming clear. According to the well known French media outlet ‘Telefoot’, the Brazilian has reached a pre-agreement with PSG to extend his contract until 2026.
This news comes just hours after rumours from Barcelona said the opposite. Catalan paper ‘Ara’ had reported on Saturday that the striker had halted negotiations and had offered himself to Barca.
At the moment, Neymar is a PSG player until 30th June 2022. The four year contract extension would not see his salary increased. The Brazilian would apparently get the same as now, in other words, 37 million euros gross a year.
This decision by the Brazilian could have a knock on effect on other deals. It could lead to Kylian Mbappe leaving as at least PSG would keep one of their two stars. The French forward is, together with Haaland, one of the big players whose future will be decided in upcoming transfer windows.
