The Barca coach did not understand what he had done. In fact, in the press conference, he said that the fourth official was disrespectful to him while he did not say anything.

The referee explained the reason why he sent Koeman off. The Barca coach was angry after losing against Granada.
“In the 66th minute, Koeman, Ronald, was sent off for the following reason: after being warned for his comments, he said to the fourth official: ‘What a character’.”
Yes, the Barca boss was sent from the touchline for a comment which included no foul language or threat. Koeman, thanks to this mystifying decision, will be banned from the touchline for the trip to Valencia and possibly even the game against Atletico Madrid. That is unless his appeal his successful.
